About Me I am a Junior Olympic Track and Field National Honorable Mention All American Runner. Born in the Ukraine and adopted to America at age 5. I am a highly motivated competitor who always finds the time to pickup heavy mileage. Choosing to run as a sophomore at Wamogo Regional High school I went on to become a top rival in the Berkshire League. I first achieved my sub 5 mile reaching the end of my sophomore year! Though people claim I was born to run I realized I could not have become the Berkshire League 2 mile champion without hard work and initiation. Road Race running has become my favorite type of running versus Track and Field or Cross Country. Running has become and will always remain a part of my life and has become my way of releasing stress in a big world. Giving up is not in my definition therefore I stand by the famous words of the Olympian Steve Prefontaine "To give anything less than your best is to give up the gift".

What values does a runner standby? |
There are certain/particular core values that I have always felt determined my character. For me winning has always been an important factor that defines me. Nobody likes the feeling of losing I am sure you too can relate to that whether it be on the field/court/board game/academics it's all the same. I hate the feeling of losing because it makes me feel as if they are better than me/superior. That kind of feeling always pushes me to strive even more. For example I was playing my brother in checkers and he always did the same moves and I could never beat him and I would always get upset. Then I decided to train and learn ideas/strategies and I stuck to it, finally when I faced him again I beat him and from there I thought I was a champion. Even when my mom beat me in chess once I was so upset that I studied and studied chess until the next time I faced her and I was so happy to have crushed her because winning was what mattered to me. Another core value to me includes competition and intelligence because without these two traits anything is possible. Having a competitive nature in a job market nowadays is huge and being intelligent whether it is shown through your grades or just the amount of knowledge you have could provide you a home/shelter, food, necessities as an adult in life.
